Iron Nest is solved in this order: read, locate, calculate, prepare, fire, and confirm.
The most important rule is that **spotter bearings, distance reports, corrections, railway waypoints, vessel courses, and Position Reports help you locate a point — they are not automatically the bearing that goes into the turret.**
Once the target is known, draw a fresh line from the **current Iron Nest position** to that target. That final line gives the bearing and range for the shot.
This Hub covers the full campaign from **Mission 1 — Calibration Fire** through **Mission 15 — White Shells**, with focused walkthroughs for Missions 2–15, triangulation help, firing decisions, troubleshooting, and all four confirmed endings.

The missions keep changing the target problem, but I still solve every shot by locating the point first and building the firing solution second.
The gun usually does exactly what I tell it to do.
Most of my bad shots started several stations earlier:
* I treated an approximate search area as an exact target;
* I reused a firing card after the Nest moved;
* I loaded a different charge count from the one used in the calculation;
* I fired again before reading the report from the previous impact.
The campaign becomes much easier once I separate **finding the target** from **firing at the target**.
The firing loop I use throughout the Iron Nest campaign.
| 1. Read | Read the complete order and identify the current Iron Nest position, target clues, shell requirement, timer trigger, support condition, and stand-down condition. | You know what the current mission phase is actually asking you to solve. |
| 2. Locate | Use coordinates, spotter bearings, distances, reconnaissance, corrections, Position Reports, or movement data to establish the target and firing origin. | The target marker and current Iron Nest marker are both defensible rather than guessed. |
| 3. Calculate | Draw one final line from the current Iron Nest position to the confirmed target, then record bearing, range, charges, and elevation. | The firing card belongs to this target, this firing origin, and the intended gun. |
| 4. Prepare | Load the required shell and charges, rotate the turret, set elevation, and confirm the correct left or right gun is armed. | The physical gun state matches the firing card. |
