Iron Nest Ballistic Calculator: Bearing & Angle

The Ballistic Calculator is an interactive tool that turns a target's bearing, range, charge, and elevation into a trial firing solution you can verify inside Iron Nest.

The Ballistic Calculator is an interactive tool that turns a target's bearing, range, charge, and elevation into a trial firing solution you can verify inside Iron Nest.

Iron Nest uses fully manual ballistics, so the calculator does not replace gunlaying — it helps you pre-compute the numbers before you sit at the turret's dials.

You enter the target bearing (degrees) and the measured range (kilometers), then the calculator suggests a powder charge and barrel elevation pair from the in-game firing tables.

Because shells do not randomly spread, a solution from the calculator that matches the game's tables will land exactly where predicted, making it a trustworthy planning aid.

The calculator also estimates time-of-flight, which matters for counter-battery work where you must beat the enemy's return fire within a timed window.

Players use the Ballistic Calculator to plan Mission 4 (Counter-Battery) and Mission 13 (Phantom Battery), where fast, correct solutions decide the medal outcome.

Inputs are deliberately simple — bearing, range, charge, elevation — so the tool mirrors the four controls you actually touch on the Heavy Turret.

The calculator is one of five interactive tools that separate this site from static wikis, which only describe the math in plain text without letting you run it.

This page separates documented information from assumptions so players can use it as a reference without treating unverified claims as fact. Check the in-game interface and official announcements when a mechanic, availability detail, or value may have changed after the source was collected.
