Iron Nest Map Icons Guide: Verified Answers
One of the first things you'll notice upon entering is your **map table**. This is where you're going to spend most of your time.
One of the first things you'll notice upon entering is your **map table**. This is where you're going to spend most of your time.
To the right of that you'll notice your**teleprinter** (circled in red). This is where orders will be relayed.
The the immediate left of that is the other **teleprinter** (circled in blue.) This is where you will receive intel from spotters.
To the left of the teleprinters is the**requisition station** (indicated by the yellow arrow). This is where you will resupply your Iron Nest.
At the requisition table you'll be able to purchase **shells**, **charges**, **repositions**, **intel**, and **recon planes** for **requisition points**.
In challenge mode you start with only 100, so be sure not to spend too many and leave yourself without any ammo or charges.
The various shell types are listed in the section titled **Shells** and gone over in detail.
You can earn more requisition points by destroying priority targets that are marked with stars. Each star is worth 10 req points. Requisition points **do not** carry over from previous sessions.
Powder charges are used to fire the guns and are essential to operation. They cost 4 RC and add 20 charges to your inventory.
Recon planes are used to make passes over the battlefield, revealing the map and any targets that it flies over. These can be controlled by putting the card in the stamper and then entering coordinates and a bearing for the plane to fly.
In this photo, I am ordering the plane to fly on a bearing of 90 from grid A1. That means the plane will fly directly right of A1 along the 1 line.
Moving back to the two teleprinters, we can see the orders sent down from High Command, our current position, our spotter positions, and the initial information provided to us by our spotters.
You can **left click** to copy the highlighted information to your clipboard to make things easier when marking these locations on the map.
At the map table, you will find several tools that will help you in destroying your enemies.
The first of these that we will be going over is the grid system in the following section.
The map is composed of several lettered and numbered grids that increase the further you go.
These large grids are useful, but to accurately hit your targets you will need to be more precise.
Each grid square is further divided into smaller sub grids from 0,0 to 9,9, with 0,0 being the bottom left corner and 9,9 being the top right corner. As you go higher and further right, the numbers will increase. It is important to know which subgrid your target is in, as each full grid is 1000x1000 meters and each subgrid is 100x100 meters.
The second set of tools you will have access to is the various marking tools.
These consist of a 3 colored pencils and a drafting compass. You select and use these tools by left clicking on them. Then you click and drag to make your mark.
