The Iron Nest demo is a free PC build on Steam (appid 4300500), released 15 June 2026, two months before the full 6 August 2026 launch.

It lets new players try the first-person dieselpunk gunnery without buying: read an order, plot a target, lay the turret, set charge, and fire a deliberate shot.

The demo covers the Calibration Fire tutorial and the early firing chain, so you can confirm you enjoy the slow, calculated pacing before purchasing the full campaign.

Progress in the demo does not carry into the paid game, but the gunlaying habits you build — bearing, charge, elevation, shell choice — transfer directly.

Because Iron Nest has no shell spread, what you learn aiming in the demo is exactly what the full 15-mission campaign expects of you.
